Urge Washington to Support Communities Addressing Climate Change

Action: Climate Change

January 29, 2013   Action Alert ID# 31

Since April, thousands of people from over 1,900 U.S. communities and all 50 states have called on their local leaders to take action on climate change.

Of those, 29 local governments in the U.S. and 66 from across the globe answered the call and joined WWFs Earth Hour City Challenge in 2012. Each has committed to reduce their carbon footprint and prepare for increasingly extreme weather events, including more severe floods, stronger hurricanes, intensifying heat waves and wildfires, and rising sea levels.
