The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Wildlife Services may sound harmless, but this secretive wildlife-extermination agency is killing as many as 3 million coyotes, bears, beavers, foxes, birds, wolves and other native animals each year.
But Wildlife Services just keeps on plugging away on its wolf-killing mission. The agency is now seeking to expand its wolf program to Washington state, even as it comes under increasing media scrutiny and is investigated by the USDA Inspector General.
Wildlife Services plans to shoot and trap Washington's wolves in order to appease livestock ranchers -- despite the availability of nonlethal methods that have been proven to work in reducing conflicts between wolves and livestock.
Three out of four Washingtonians want to see healthy wolf populations restored to their state. Under no circumstances should Wildlife Services be in charge of any part of wolf management.
Please act now to urge the USDA to protect Washington's recovering wolf populations and rein in Wildlife Services.
