Michigan lawmakers are about to make a very big mistake. A bill pending in the state legislature would forbid Michigan's Department of Natural Resources from protecting endangered species' habitat in the state.
Senate Bill 78 prohibits the agency from using the Michigan Endangered Species Act -- or any other law -- to set aside land as protected.
S.B. 78 has already passed in the Senate. It could be heard in the House of Representatives any day.
Tell Governor Rick Snyder and the House Natural Resources Committee to vote no on S.B. 78.
